WOW Heros – What Are They Exactly?

If you are a newcomer to the World of Warcraft, you may be unaware of the WOW heros class.

Basically, the WOW heros class is derived from Warcraft III hero units, and are a derivative of ordinary classes, but with special abilities, mounts, and other attributes that make them stronger, faster or better than their ordinary counterparts. They even sometimes start at a higher level.

 Why Doesn’t Everyone Use WOW Heros?

 Good question. Unfortunately, in order to unlock the WOW heros class, you need to have met certain prerequisites, which include level and other achievements within the game, so they’re not available to newcomers, or those who are playing on lower levels.

  What Kind of WOW Heros Are There?

 At the moment, WOW heros are limited, since Blizzard, the makers of the game, have decided only to make them available with new expansion packs.

With the release of the Wrath of King Lich expansion pack, for example, the Death Knight WOW heros were made available. In order to attain them, however, players need to have at least one character at level 55 already, and for realms that have been open for ninety days. Players can also only have one per realm.

To offset the requirements, they come with a nifty set of features though: they start at level 55, can be any race, and can get some rare gear close to their starting area, as well as being the only characters that can use certain mounts, like the Archerous Death Charger. Then there is their runeforging ability, which allows them to enchant their own weapons.

Aside from the death knight, there are 29 other heros planned by Blizzard, two of which are the Runemaster and Necromancer, and all will have special abilities and requirements.

   The Joke’s On You

 It seems that even the big wigs at Blizzard have a sense of humor though. On April Fool’s day in 2008, they announced a new addition to WOW heros: the Bard. This was a hoax character though, and never actually planned to come into play.

Of course, WOW heros are still very real, and the more expansion packs there are, and you have, the more WOW heros you’ll be able to acquire.
